Hr Career Counselor Told Me

What the $250/Hr Career Counselor Told Me Have you ever felt stuck and overwhelmed and scared, gone to get advice as to what to do next in your life or career, and… …it wasn’t the right advice  (But the last thing I’d wanna be is a lawyer! Blech!) …the person who gave it to you had no clue how to relate to a creative person like you?  (“I can make a full-time living as a designer, Ma â€" I know people that can prove it!”) …it wasn’t aligned with your values and priorities in any way, shape, or form?  (I could care less about having stock options!) …it made things worse?  (Well, that was a conversation that’ll haunt my nightmares for years to come. I’ll never ask for help again!) …you were told to get a nose job? OK, maybe that last one just happened to me. It was back in 2007, when I finally decided to stop pursuing acting and I heard of a social worker who specifically helped artists figure out a new career they could thrive in. My mother gave me the money for two sessions ($500!), and off I went to someone I thought was going to guide me to what I wanted to be when I grew up. But boy, is that not how the story ended! Honestly, Im surprised that I havent relayed this story yet. I think Ive been repressing ittil now: -
